Lyman Moore EigHth graders are taking over their morning news

A group of eighth graders at Lyman Moore Middle School are taking over their school’s weekly news! Typically a job of the Principal, the “Moore-ning” News will give students the agency to create morning announcements that reflect news that the students want to hear. Using humor combined with professionalism, they will deliver current events, sports updates, and interviews that will provide students with entertaining, yet informative weekly news. To build connections throughout the school, they are creating an announcement system that is relevant and reflective of the student body.

In addition to writing their scripts and planning the announcements, the “Moore-ning” News will give students an opportunity to apply writing, planning, directing, and performing skills. To keep themselves representing their peers, they will send out surveys to stay up to date with community interests.
