Opportunities

Painting for a Purpose is a friendly, welcoming organization. Our group offers a range of volunteer opportunities depending on people’s interests. Time commitments can be flexible. If you don’t have the time to volunteer, we are always open to discussing other ways you can contribute!

Painters

All levels of painters are welcome! Our goal is to have fun together while we paint. We love the camaraderie and community of painting with other people. Painting styles are individualized depending on each volunteer’s preferences.

At our regular meetings, we work on our own projects or assist with prep work (sanding and priming) on future projects. We offer flexibility for painters who prefer to paint decorative items on their own time. Painters are invited to help with our annual auction and other group activities.

Craft Show Volunteers

Over the year, our group participates in several craft shows to raise additional funding. Volunteers are needed before the craft show(s) to assist with planning and organization. Additional volunteers are needed on the day of the craft show(s) to help with set-up, staffing and breakdown.

Woodworkers

Every project requires the hands of skilled and knowledgeable wood workers to help build our items.

Please reach out if you have the tools or information to support cutting out shapes for our hand painted items!

From Our Volunteers:

“Initially, I volunteered because PFP funds such a great cause. The student-led grants are creative and empowering. But it’s the spirit of the volunteer group that keeps me coming back. Such a dynamic and caring, not to mention talented, group of artists who freely share materials and encouragement.”

“I volunteer because I believe that the skills these kids use to apply for grants, and execute their worthwhile projects, will be valuable skills for years to come. When I see the many ways in which they want “to make a difference”, I’m hopeful for all of us. ”

“I volunteer because I’m always inspired by the creativity and hope of the young people whose initiatives we support.”

“I volunteer because it is a way to give back to the community, and because I love sharing the “artistry” side of things with good friends. I also enjoy the teamwork of all pulling toward a mutual goal.”
