Rise and shine cafe expands!

The Rise and Shine Cafe that was founded last grant cycle has plans to expand! The Rise and Shine Cafe is a student-led business run by Deering High School students in their Functional Academics, Life Skills, and RISE. Students go through a job interview process to fill the roles of the cafe including: barista, servers, stock people, and order checkers. Not only does the Cafe offer the students involved a chance to gain work and life experience, this year they are expanding the program to provide hot drinks to the entire school!

Rise and Shine Cafe “provides a safe place for unique learners to engage with peers, co-workers, and customers while learning new job skills.” The Cafe will be hiring more student-staff, expanding their menu, and offering the Deering High School Community a coffee service.
