Civil Rights Team Promotes Tolerance and Respect

Lincoln Middle School Civil Rights team members painted a large mural in a school hallway to spread awareness about protected civil rights at their school. The student organization is relatively new, and includes about 20 students who are passionate about human rights and equality. The reflection form noted the result of the completed artwork; “It showed students and teachers that a positive and creative community project is possible. It is an inspiration for others to bring their own creative ideas to life in the school. It will help to secure a safe space for marginalized groups.” The group has been meeting weekly since the beginning of Spring in 2022, and look forward to continuing to grow their presence at school and encourage a safe, welcoming and accepting learning environment for all.
