Duo Builds Solar Powered Car Model

King Middle School students Raafe and Hashim learned how to make a handheld model of a solar car function. The two students developed their idea for the project while aiming to make an impact on science combatting the climate crisis. Together they learned problem-solving skills, more about batteries and electricity, patience, and how to use Arduino, a computer programming language for engineering. The students shared: “We worked with a real engineer who helped us design and build the car.” After Raafe and Hashim finished their car, they shared a presentation of their hard work with peers. “They asked lots of questions that we were able to answer.”
