Portland Public School’s Art Exhibit

Hannah Caron, a Portland High School senior, organized a student artwork exhibit at the Portland Public Library’s Lewis Gallery showcasing and celebrating the city’s youth artwork. Hannah carried out this project as a continuation of the exhibition entitled “Art Class” that included work from all four of the Portland Public High Schools last year.

This event was organized in 2022 by Ella, a recent Portland High School graduate also with support from Painting for a Purpose. “By giving high school art students a rare space to showcase their artwork,” Hannah wrote, the exhibit “hopefully empowered them to keep creating.” She shared that people learned from presenting their own work, as well as viewing the work of others.
