Student Shares Ethiopian Food and Culture with Peers at King Middle School

A 6th grade student at King Middle School set out to share more about Ethiopian cuisine and the traditions of her mother’s home country with her school community.

Linda conducted independent research on Ethiopia and as part of her project, fed her classmates injera flatbread and other traditional Ethiopian dishes, serving a meal catered by the local African restaurant Asmara.

The meal introduced students to food that many had not tried before and included a slideshow presentation that celebrated her culture and educated others about Ethiopia, the second most populous country in Africa.

Linda shared that she did this project “because not a lot of people know about Ethiopia and I wanted to share my culture with some of my classmates.”
