Self-Defense Class Empowers Young People

Haley at Casco Bay High School wanted to help contribute to positive solutions for the increasing rates of domestic violence for women in intimate relationships. She led a domestic violence safety training at CBHS, attended by fellow students. Students learned basic protection skills, using their body and voice to their advantage in threatening situations. Haley said; “I'm very appreciative for the money that was offered and contributed to make this event happen. It could not have happened without those funds and it brings me joy to be able to promote safety awareness younger people”.
